Commissioning

Commissioning

We have both in-house experience and a range of independent partners with specific expertise in pressure testing, flushing and cleaning district heating and cooling networks to BSRIA BG29 standards.

On many of the projects we are contracted to install, we also undertake the testing and commissioning in line with the standard specified for each individual project.

To commission a system and achieve BSRIA BG29 standard, the development of a detailed commissioning plan is essential. At PPSL we review all elements of the project from design through to ongoing maintenance to ensure the commissioning process meets the requirements of each project. We do not operate a one solution fits all approach.

Given flushing typically takes place in the final six to ten weeks, a project delay could impact “Heat On” dates making it even more important an experienced contractor is utilised for this part of the project.

When a network won’t be live within six months of install, we also recommend and undertake purging with nitrogen to ensure the network does not corrode while it awaits completion.

PPSL also offer dry pigging and ice pigging for larger diameter pipes over 250mm where achieving BSRIA velocities are typically not practical. Please get in touch for more information.
